From Hopeless to Healed

I arrived at Dr Arlo Gordin’s office, hopeless and defeated, after a year of tortuous pain, two neurologists, three orthopedists, one chiropractor, numerous hideously expensive tests, eight months of physical and emotional therapy, and two jobs...Purely on a chance recommendation, and fully expecting a mindless repetition of the diagnosis and verdict I’d been receiving, that I would have to basically give up my life as a musician (I am a pianist/keyboardist), and suffer a horrible surgery that might make me better (at least, perhaps, a little...) and/or risk losing the use of my left hand entirely.

Needles to say I was a bit taken aback with Dr. Gordin’s easy nonchalance after I explained what I’d been through, and described my symptoms. (I also didn’t believe a word of his reassurance that this was the sort of thing he handled often in musicians!) So I skeptically agreed to the examination, and even more skeptically accepted his prognosis that he could likely have me completely healed in just a few months. (I had by this point resigned myself to a minimum of a year’s recovery, by which time I would have kissed my music career goodbye.)

After my first adjustment, I got all the feeling back in my hand and the tingling disappeared, and hasn’t returned! My coordination is remarkably better as is the circulation in that arm and hand. Best of all I’ve lost about 80% of the debilitating pain I’d been suffering endlessly from, and I no longer have to drug myself to sleep at night. Not only have I gained all kinds of energy I never knew I was missing, I have lost alll the skepticism I felt at my first visit. And I can play again! When I came to see Dr. Gordin, I could only play for about fifteen minute (and forget any heavy left hand parts!) which was considerably less than the six hours I used to do. Now I can play for over two hours, and I hardly notice!

The only thing left to say is thank you, thank you, thank you Dr. Gordin! I never dreamed of being impatient to go to a doctor’s office before, but I look forward to every visit!!

He is also working on my back and fixing my knee, on which was done very bad arthroscopic surgery last year. It feels much better now than it ever has before!

Love and immense gratitude!
