My name is Yvonne, and when I was 19, I was wakeboarding with friends when I fell very badly and damaged my low back. That summer, I was in intense pain. Getting out of bed every morning took a long time and I spent the remainder of that summer in physical therapy. Although the intense pain subsided, I have lived with chronic low back pain for 25 years and the older I get, the more daily activities that I really enjoy, like many forms of exercise, I’ve had to modify or give up entirely because of my pain.
In addition, this year my thyroid has been on a roller coaster ride. My hair started falling out by the handful and I tested as having hyperthyroidism. By the time imaging and other medical testing was completed a few months later, I tested as having hypothyroidism.
I found Dr. Gordin because I was scouring Southern California for a doctor who might be able to help my husband, who was struggling with a hiatal hernia, low blood oxygenation, and an inability to go more than 2 hours without a meal or snack. After coming with my husband for his initial visits with Dr. Gordin, a week later I started seeing Dr. Gordin as well.
Not only did Dr. Gordin help identify the fact that I have several disc protrusions in my lower back, but he quickly identified that I was also suffering from Adrenal Exhaustion and my leg muscles were incredibly weak due to an Occipital Sideslip.
After my first treatment with Dr. Gordin, my leg muscle strength was restored. After 15 treatments with Dr. Gordin and taking the needed supplements for adrenal fatigue and my thyroid issue, my bloodwork showed that my thyroid was correcting.
What is most incredible to me is that after 25 treatments, my constant lower back pain has reduced from 5-6 (distracting to distressing) to 2 (mild). I am now only aware of my pain when I pay attention to it, and I can tolerate physical touch.
